Response to High Court Judgment in ongoing libel action against the Sunday Tribune.

Since publication of a forged document purporting to be a QUINN-Insurance memo in April 2007, the QUINN-group has pursued legal proceedings against the Sunday Tribune for libel. The Tribune has continued to maintain that the document is authentic despite a subsequent Garda investigation and despite the QUINN-group providing ample evidence to the Tribune demonstrating that the document is a forgery.

As part of those proceedings the QUINN-group sought specific details of any alleged wrongdoing which the Tribune intends to rely on in its defence. The Tribune failed to furnish these details and the QUINN-group is disappointed that the High Court has refused to order the Sunday Tribune to provide them.

It remains the QUINN-group's intention to fully prosecute its case to conclusion and we would again call upon the Tribune to admit, without further delay, that the document is a forgery so that this issue can be put to rest.
