QUINN GROUP SCOOPS COMPANY OF THE YEAR IN BUSINESS & FINANCE AWARDS
An Tanaiste, Michael McDowell TD along with 600 Irish business leaders gathered to celebrate with the winners of the 2006 Business & Finance Awards on 6th December 2006. QUINN group picked up the ‘Company of the Year’ Award. The Business & Finance Awards recognize and salute Irish business leaders and companies who have made an outstanding contribution to Ireland Inc. and the judging panel comprised a prestigious line-up of business leaders, academics and previous B&F award winners.
Speaking about the Quinn Group, Winner of 2006 Company of The Year, Denis O’Connor, Managing Partner at KPMG said “the Quinn Group is one of the great unheralded success stories of Irish business. The Quinn Group has grown from humble beginnings in 1973 to become a multi-billion euro enterprise in 2006 with interests ranging from manufacturing to insurance and hotels. The company’s importance to the economic development of the border region is almost incalculable.”
