Cystic Fibrosis

The Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland (CFAI) is a voluntary, non-profitable, charitable organisation. It was set up in 1963 to increase knowledge and awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and to give advice and support to people with Cystic Fibrosis, and their families. There are currently 22 branches of the Association throughout the country, with approximately 1,500 members nationally.

The Association is currently funding four Research Projects which are helping in the vital search for a greater understanding of Cystic Fibrosis. The ultimate aim is to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, but in the meantime CFAI believe "it is imperative to continue research to improve current methods of treatment."

Rehab Foundation

The Rehab Group is an independent not-for-profit organisation working for social and economic inclusion among people with disabilities and others who are marginalised.

The Group provides training, employment, health and social care and commercial services for some 56,000 people each year in Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands and Poland.

Rehab's philosophy is based on the belief that

"regardless of a person's disability or social circumstances, everyone has an important role to play in shaping the society in which we live. A community is which everyone is involved - and where every contribution is valued - is a brighter, richer and more vibrant place."
