Cavan Family Resource Centre

This family resource centre is open from 9.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday. It offers programmes in parenting, human development, bereavement care/suicide bereavement support, addiction counseling, and mediation. There is also a support programme for separated or divorced persons. Rainbow's peer support programme is also offered for adolescents and children who experience family breakdown. These services are open to all members of the community.

Special Olympics Committee

The Special Olympics Ireland Fundraising raises essential funds to continue changing lives of the 10,699 athletes and 18,000 volunteers currently involved in the programme. Crucial funds must be raised to recruit new athletes, train new volunteers and develop the programme in every community.

The Special Olympics aims to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The Special Olympics changes the lives of people with an intellectual disability and also changes the lives of families, supporters, volunteers, coaches, fundraisers, organisations and companies involved.
