QUINN-Insurance are proud to have supported the following organisations at it's annual Pro-Am at the Slieve Russell Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Co. Cavan. The Event now provides support of €16,000 for two local and national charities per year.

Suicide Prevention and Self Harming

Pieta House, the Centre for the Prevention of Self-Harm or Suicide, opened its doors in January 2006 and is the first charity of its kind in Ireland. Pieta House offers a specialised treatment programme for people who have suicidal ideation or who participate in self-harming behaviours. In particular, this centre targets people who have already attempted to take their lives - often the forgotten people.

The specialized treatment programme offers a comprehensive service aimed at individuals and their families who are affected by: Multiple suicidal attempts, Suicidal ideation and Continuous self-harming behaviours.

As a centre for the prevention of self-harm or suicide, Pieta House is a community response, the first of its kind, to these ever-increasing problems in Ireland.

Domestic Violence Advocacy Services

Domestic Violence Advocacy Service (DVAS) are a non-governmental organization based in Sligo that provide free and confidential services to women experiencing domestic violence in Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan.

The core nature of the services work is to support women living with domestic abuse and to enable women to make informed choices about their future . The service also provides information and support that allows women to maximize their safety and the safety of their children.

DVAS offer one to one support sessions, information on rights and entitlements , advocacy services and a helpline that offers information and support for women and also for people or a family member who are concerned about a woman.
